Ciudad de Arrecife Marathon Lanzarote, November 29th, 2008
The annual Marathon in Lanzarote will take place for the third time in Arrecife, the capital of the island; This is the only Marathon event in the Canary Islands and it is celebrating its 19th edition in 2008, welcoming runners of all age groups from all over the world. On the course in front of the beach you will experience the charm of the city, with its new and old buildings where locals have lived in close contact with the sea for centuries.

The course
The course has been designed by the foremost runner from
the Canary Islands, José Carlos Hernández Cabrera
(Arrecife -
Lanzarote).
PB 3000 m.8:10 - 5 k. 14:00 - 10 K 28:54 - 1/2 Marathon 1:05:22.Winner of the last 1/2 Marathon.
1/4 Marathon by Teams

This prestigious road racing event consists of 4 individual races:

Marathon Kids (approx. 1 K)
A race for children from 3 to 14 years old organized by the local Government. All participants will receive a T-shirt.

1/4 Marathon 10,550 K
This is a one loop race course for all categories, for both beginners and experienced runners.
1/4 Marathon Teams (4 runners x 10,550 K)

1/2 Marathon 21,100 K
This race consists of two loops and caters for all categories of runners, both slow and fast.

Marathon 42,195 K
The marathon is a great challenge for all athletes. The race attracts running enthusiasts from all over the world competing to be the first finisher of the four loops. The cut off time is 5 hours.
